Vexro Swarms
Swarms are one of the most common — and most feared — forms the Vexro take. Made up of dozens to hundreds of small entities, they act as a collective mind capable of complex strategy and real-time adaptation.
Behavior
Each individual entity in a swarm is relatively weak. On its own, it can be destroyed by a single shot from a Vytar. But swarms never act alone. They move like a fluid, surrounding their prey on all sides, attacking in coordinated waves and pulling back to regroup.
“Fighting a Swarm is like fighting the ocean. You can cut through one wave, but a hundred more will follow.” — Starfall Alliance Combat Manual
Formations
- Sphere — They surround the target and contract, crushing it
- Spear — They form a sharp point and pierce shields by concentrating fire
- Cloud — They scatter to avoid area attacks, regrouping instantly
- Wall — They block escape routes while larger forces close in
Collective Mind
What controls a Swarm? The Alliance’s scientists don’t know. There is no visible leader. Every entity seems to know exactly what all the others will do. Some theories suggest Swarms are extensions of a larger Vexro — fingers of an invisible hand.
Countering Them
Pilots are trained to deal with Swarms using area attacks and high-speed evasive maneuvers. The worst mistake is to stop moving — a Swarm closes the circle in seconds.
