Pilot progression
Dying is part of it. Every incursion, won or not, gives pilot XP equal to your score up to 800 points; above that, each point yields 25% XP (plus XP from Council Contracts). The full score still counts for records and leaderboards.
Levels 1–8: game content
| Level | Unlocks |
|---|---|
| 2 | Heat archetype: Reservoir, Minor Nova, Heliospheric Shield · Glass Eye artifact |
| 3 | Cryogenic Core (new lineage) · Black Light: Black Light, Photosynthesis, Undying Flame · Map of the Undiscovered System artifact |
| 4 | Stellar powers: Star Heart, Ring of Eternal Fire · Astrid’s Stopped Clock artifact |
| 5 | First Bond · Vytar Seed artifact |
| 6 | Symbiote Core (new lineage) · Total symbiosis: Symbiotic Fusion · Vexro Heart artifact |
| 7 | Multiple Eyes and Ash Thorns mutations (Vytar Evolution) |
| 8 | Symbiote Membrane mutation |
The Daily and Weekly always use the base content, so everyone plays on equal terms.
Levels 9–20: Hangar
Each level unlocks a Vytar color (Solar Crown, Abyssal, Vexro Crimson, Icarus Ash, Aurora, Void) or a title for your name on the leaderboard. Pick them in the Hangar, from the menu. It’s purely visual: nothing changes in the rules.
Pilot Rank (Vytar Signature)
| Rank | How to reach it |
|---|---|
| F — Larval | start |
| E — Young | level 5 |
| D — Adult | level 10 |
| C — Mature | level 15 |
| B — Veteran | level 20 and clear the Frontier on Protocol 3 |
| A — Elite | clear the Frontier on Protocol 6 |
| S — Legendary | clear the Frontier on Protocol 10 |
| S★ | one star for every 5000 XP after level 20 |
The highest ranks require feats, not just playtime. Your rank appears on the terminal, in the dossier and next to your name on the leaderboard.
Commendations
Feats the Council records: clearing the Frontier on Protocol 10, reaching Depth 5, defeating a boss after converging in [DATA ERASED], winning without going over 25 Corruption, making the podium of a Daily or Weekly, and more. Several unlock titles.
Dossier and Datacore
The Pilot Dossier keeps your level, rank, records and the highest Protocol cleared on the Frontier. The Vita Datacore records every Vexro, Anomaly and artifact you’ve encountered. Whatever is missing shows up as [DATA ERASED].
